Negotiation Workshop - International Women's Day Celebration

The workshop is co-organized with the Women in Data x Business community and is free to attend for members of their network and to AI Guild members. We thank SumUp for offering us the breakfast!

It will consist of three parts:

1. A comprehensive presentation on the theories and key elements of successful salary negotiation, including Do's and Don'ts.
2. Demonstrations of real-life salary negotiation scenarios, including an example of an unsuccessful negotiation followed by an example of the same scenario conducted effectively.
3. An interactive round where participants will work in groups to practice and apply their newfound skills through simulated salary negotiation cases.

We’d like to encourage female participation since it’s International Women's Day. Use this opportunity to hang out with fellow ladies and have a good time. However, just like gender equality is for all people, not only for women, we welcome participation regardless of gender.

About the Workshop leaders

Dr. Min Ye

I am a seasoned data scientist with a Ph.D. in Computer Science and expertise in modeling and algorithm development. With experience in biomedical, IoT, and customer-focused data science projects, I now lead a data science team in customer behavior prediction at Zalando and head the AI team at a legal tech start-up. As the initiator of this negotiation workshop, I am excited to join forces with my co-presenters to bring our knowledge and experience to our fellow data professionals.

Dr. Astrid Walle

I am a mechanical engineer with a Ph.D. in numerical simulation. I have held several gas turbine R&D and AI development positions at Siemens Energy, Vattenfall, and Rolls Royce. Following my professional determination to bring AI and Data Science into engineering, I ran my own business. I worked as a Product Manager in a software startup before I recently rejoined Siemens Energy to establish the usage of data from the very beginning in product development. 5 different jobs, from start-ups to large corporate, and running my own business, including a lot of negotiations and learnings, which I am happy to share.

Min Wang

I am an accomplished leader with more than ten years of working experience with global corporations, including Honeywell, Schindler, and start-ups. I have been on both sides of the table in salary negotiations. I hold an MBA degree from INSEAD and am a member of the INSEAD Women in Business Club. I look forward to being your sounding board, providing feedback from a business stakeholder’s perspective, in addition to sharing knowledge in this upcoming workshop.
