- Decoding Data Careers: A Comprehensive Comparison of Data Scientists and Data Engineers
- Murat will share a comparison of the technical profiles of data scientists/ML specialists and data engineers from Stack Overflow's annual community survey from 2022. He will first delve into descriptive statistics. Then move on to introduce baseline models comparing annual compensations and the effects of age, level of education, employment status, years of coding, and how the data practitioners learned to code. In the final part, Murat will outline a comparison of the roles via a causal path analysis involving the languages, databases, technologies, libraries, tools, and frameworks used by these practitioners. The findings offer insights for tech recruiters, team leaders, aspiring candidates, and those considering a transition into the tech industry.
